Have you set custom columns in your Notes or History tabs and they don't seem to stick?
If you set your columns in History or Notes on your remote and then exit out of Act and sign back on to the main database the columns stay set.
If you click “File” and switch databases there, the columns reset to default. The “fix” for this is to set your columns the way you want them and to sign onto your remote or office database using shortcuts to PAD files on your desktop. Do not switch from the File option on the toolbar. While this lets the program switch faster, it resets the columns.
This is a bug that has been reported to ACT! developement but there is no fix in any release of ACT! as of 09/17/2008.
